Mammography: A Team Approach to Fighting Breast Cancer
There are several different objectives in presenting the following material. The first objective of this course is to provide statistics on breast cancer rates, including race and ethnicity. Second, is to explain the different roles played by individuals in the detection of breast cancer ranging from the gynecologist to the chaplain and everyone in between. As part of the breast detection team, all radiology technologists must be aware of their role and of those on their team. Last, this course will explore several concerns that patients with breast cancer may have regarding breast reconstruction.
The objectives for the course will be accomplished by the following:
1. Presenting the statistics of breast mortality rates
2. Explaining the significance and importance of using the team approach for breast cancer detection
3. Listing and identifying healthcare team members in a woman’s breast care
4. Describing the key roles of team members detecting, treating, and caring for patients with breast cancer
5. Present and discuss key issues relating to breast reconstruction

Who accepts courses?
All Zapp Education courses are accepted by the ARRT® and are ASRT approved. Our Radiography, Digital Radiology, Fluoroscopy and CT courses meet California State requirements. All courses meet Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky and Texas CE requirements. All the 1 credit + courses are accepted by the State of Florida.Can I repeat a CE course that I have already taken?
The ARRT & the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) do not allow radiographers to repeat any CE course in the same biennium cycle. However, on January 1, 2016, the ARRT changed their guidelines and now allow technologists to repeat a CE course in a subsequent biennium cycle. Zapp Education is not responsible for ensuring that you do not repeat a course in the same CE biennium cycle. Please review all the courses you have taken with us prior to taking other courses to avoid duplication. Also, each state has their own licensures and have different regulations – check with your licensing board as to whether they will allow you to repeat a CE course in a subsequent biennium.How many times can I take a test to pass?
Per ASRT regulations, you will have three attempts to successfully complete tests. In addition, a mandatory score of 75% or higher is required by ASRT to pass a test. Zapp Education is not liable or accountable for members experiencing technical difficulty during tests.Other than online, can I order a course from you instead?
Yes, you can. Zapp Education understands the challenges some members may have when taking tests online. You have the options of printing courses directly from website (along with the test questions) or calling our customer service department at 1-559-859-4725. Then you can either email, fax, or mail us your test answers. Tests that are emailed, faxed, or mailed in will be graded within 3-5 business days. Are Zapp Education CE courses accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT®)?
Yes, definitely. The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is one of the ARRT®’s Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanisms (RCEEM’s) and approves CE course content on behalf of the ARRT®. All our CE course content have been approved by the ASRT for ARRT®,- The ARDMS accepts ARRT® Category A credits. Because all our courses are approved by the ASRT for Category A credits, all are accepted by the ARDMS.
- The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (NMTCB) accepts ARRT® Category A credits. Because all our courses are approved by the ASRT for Category A credits, all are accepted by the NMTCB.
- ARMRIT accepts ARRT® Category A credits for MRI courses. Because all our courses are approved by the ASRT for these credits, our MRI courses are accepted by ARMRIT. To see a list of courses accepted by ARMRIT
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) – our courses that have been approved by the ASRT are accepted by CCI. CCI accepts contact hours from organizations that utilize the ARRT® RCEEM. ASRT is recognized by ARRT® as a RCEEM.
Which states accept your courses for continuing education requirements?
Many states that have CE requirements accept ASRT-approved courses. Our courses have been approved by the ASRT for Category A CE credit. Any courses that are approved by the ASRT for 1 credit or more are approved by the state of Florida. If you are unsure whether your state will accept our courses, please contact your state licensing department. Iowa, Illinois, and Texas accept our courses.California Residents – Radiology Technologists – CE requirements?
Zapp Education radiography courses satisfy California CE requirements by using ASRT number found on completion certificate. California -What Digital Radiography course topics are accepted?
Digital Radiography courses can be used to fulfill the Digital Radiography requirement. Courses include:-

- Fluoroscopy coursesExample 1: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) having a fluoroscopy permit who receives 4 fluoroscopy safety CE credits in 2 years has fulfilled both their fluoroscopy safety AND their digital radiography requirements.Example 2: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) can take CT or fluoroscopy courses to fulfill their Digital Radiography requirements (regardless of whether or not they perform CT or fluoroscopy)
Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) and Limited RTs
RRA’s may use some credits (courses) with Zapp Education. Specific RRA CE requirements can be found in the ARRT® Continuing Education Requirements Document, available here: RRA CE Requirements. Since all our courses are ASRT approved for Category A credits, RRA’s can therefor take our courses: minimum of 25 of the 50 CE credits must be earned through courses designated as Category A or Category A+. Our credits are ARRT® credits so they are acceptable for Limited RT’s.CE Reporting
Does Zapp Education report my CE credits to the ASRT or ARRT®
No. We only track the courses completed with a 75% score. Per regulations, ASRT nor ARRT allow CE providers to report CE to them. However, one benefit of being an ASRT member is that they will track your credits (once you send them to ASRT), then they will forward them to the ARRT on your behalf during your biennium.I need to add or update my respective identifier number on my certificate.

Course test must be taken BEFORE the expiration date. Once the expiration date passes, the test is no longer valid. Credits are not applicable in a previous or forthcoming biennium. Consequently, if you take a course before it expires, you may submit it after the expiration date.Florida – do you report my CE credits to my state?
Yes. All our courses are approved by the ASRT for 1 credit (or more); also accredited by the state of Florida. Every two weeks, an electronic invoice is sent on behalf of our subscribers living or practicing in the state of Florida. Notes: When you register with Zapp Education, be sure to check correct box: □ I live and work in Florida □ I work in Florida but do not live there If you have time constraints when renewing your Florida State license, your best option is to fax your certificates to the State of Florida at 850-921-6365 (takes the State of Florida several weeks to reflect reported credits from CE providers in your account).Technical Assistance

The course exams will need at least a 75% percent score to pass the exam. and any exam can only be taken 3 TIMES, and then the test is unavailable. After a passing grade, a certificate will be generated to show proof of completion.
